At Grand Targhee Resort, marketing director Susie Barnett-Bushong reported the resort received nearly a foot of snow on Saturday night and Sunday at the summit of Fred’s Mountain. Current base depth at Targhee’s 9,000-foot midmountain measuring station is 30 inches.
Targhee is scheduled to open its lifts Friday, and on Monday workers were grooming the slopes off the Shoshone beginner lift. Barnett-Bushong said there’s a possibility the resort could open the lift Friday but additional coverage is needed to open the upper mountain.
Grand Targhee planning an early season opening, and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort scheduled to open December 1st. Looks like the winter ski season is most definitely on its way …
